We are pleased to inform you that the Vice Chancellor has approved the proposal to set up a ‘COVID-19 vaccination and scholarship fund’ to ensure that students can get vaccinated as early as possible, through any channel (including private hospitals), without financial barriers. Thank you to the Moot Court Committee, Cultural Committee, ADR Committee, Sports Committee and Literary & Quiz Committee for agreeing to the reallocation for this purpose.
The total corpus of the fund is Rs.1,50,000. It will first be utilised for vaccination (as per the process detailed below) and any remaining money will be transferred to Scholarships (as per the regular Scholarship policy) for the next Academic Year.
Eligibility Criteria:
A. Students with annual family income below 8 lakhs
B. Students who are facing a temporary economic difficulty due to the COVID-19 crisisThe fund covers students from the 1st to 4th year of the B.A.,LL.B. course or from the 1st year of the MBA course (referring to the academic year 2020-21).
In order to evaluate the applications for the fund, an ad hoc committee has been set up consisting of the following members:
1. Dr. Mallikarjun Gade (nominated by the Vice Chancellor)
2. Mohit Kala, Treasurer, Student Bar Council
3. Aviral Agrawal, Joint Secretary (Male), Student Bar Council

After vaccination, students would have to provide proof of vaccination by way of the vaccination certificate and a bill (if provided by the hospital). The applications and furnished documents will not be shared with any member outside of the Committee. The Committee will reach out for further information, henceforth.
While a lot of State governments are vaccinating citizens for free in government hospitals, there are reports of shortages and uneven distribution. In such a situation, the aim is to ensure that all students can go to private hospitals if they prefer as well.
